@ e -- Hahahahaha yes, we'd be kindred spirits about bees, I know. Actually, she is a Manitoba artist and I first saw her honeycomb art about 40 years ago at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. The installation was in a plexiglass box with live bees that were able to go to and from the art gallery through a little enclosed tunnel. The bees slowly built up the wax honeycomb around the objects in the box as they filled them with honey and were very much co-artists of the exhibit. STILL one of the most original and creative artistic ideas I've ever seen.
Thanks for the introduction to so many women I didn't know!
ReplyDeleteOMG! What is this!?! You must engineer a meeting with her!
