I was struck by how young she was when she died...barely 40 when she lost her breast cancer battle. When she died, she was so respected in her birth country, Iran, the government allowed news services to show obit photos of her without a head covering. That fact is both a beautiful tribute to her and a brutal absurdity about the regime! 😳
I love to read about women mathematicians! I hold them in such high honor. I have a friend whose doctoral defense included a chalkboard full of the most arcane figuring I have ever seen. I used to have a photo on my phone that I would look at occasionally and marvel. Me? Not so much.
