Nichola Goddard (1980 - 2006)
Canadian soldier and captain in the
1st Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery,
served with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry
in Canadian operations in the Afghanistan War;
first Canadian female combat soldier to be
killed in action on the front lines;
posthumously awarded the General Campaign Star,
Meritorious Service Medal, and Sacrifice Medal.
